They survived with us for so long that I was worried they wouldn’t make it, but I have a feeling they were just fine.
You might not be able to go out and find your own pet turtles like my brother and I did, but if that works for you, there is no reason why you can’t. For most people though, finding turtles for pets means a trip to the local pet store. You can find them in various sizes. Some turtles will grow rather large, and some will remain small. If you live in a small home, the small variety will be a much better choice. You can also find the accessories that you'll need for your pet turtles in any pet store. You want them to remain happy and healthy for a log time.
Whether you catch your own or find your pet turtles in a pet store, you'll want to be sure you are feeding them what they need. Anyone who works in a pet store should be able to point you in the right direction. You can also look around online to see what would be best, how often to feed them, and if there are other things you need to do with them to keep them in good health. You may even find a great source of pet turtle food online, and that could mean you can get what you need without having to leave the house. If your pet store is a long drive away, this is a great option to save time and money when caring for your pet turtles.
